WHOLES & HALVES
Purchasing a side of beef is the most economical option for those who want to fill their freezer.
A whole beef can last a family of four up to ONE YEAR for a fraction of the cost of what you would pay at the store!
How It Works
-
When you purchase beef from Yonkipin Legacy Farms, you are purchasing an animal that has been born and raised on our farm from start to finish. We take pride in our herd and do our best to raise our cattle in a responsible, ethical manner.

-
Our goal is to finish steers in the 900-1200 lb. weight range. All cattle are finished with grass and grain in open pasture. We DO NOT use steroids, hormones, or antibiotics in our feed.

-
The price of beef is $3.00/lb based on the hanging weight, plus processing fees. (Hanging weight is approximately 60% of live weight.)

-
When purchasing a half or whole, customers may be asked to pay a deposit. ($600/whole, $300/half)

-
On the day of your processing appointment, we will haul the steer to the butcher. Processing fees will be dependent upon the butcher you choose. The processors we use are:
-
War Eagle Processing, Hindsville, AR - (saran & butcher paper wrapped)
-
Harpos Das Butcher Haus, Green Forest, AR - (vacuum packaged)
-

-
You will be able to customize your cutting order with the processor. While each customer's order may differ, you can expect to take home the following standard cuts of meat:
-
Ground Beef
-
Roasts (Chuck, Arm, Rump)
-
Steaks (Sirloin, T-Bone, Ribeye, Porterhouse)
-
Tenderized Round Steak & Sirloin Tip Steak
-
Short Ribs
-
Brisket
-

-
You will be responsible to pick up the meat from the butcher when it is ready. (Approximately 2-3 weeks later)

-
We ask that the final balance be paid to Yonkipin Legacy Farms before you pick up your meat. The processing fee will be paid directly to the butcher.
SAMPLE PRICES
Sample prices below are based on standard cuts for a 1,000 lb. steer. The final price will be determined by the weight of the animal at the time of slaughter and on the processing plant used.
